Master Alex Lim
Profile of a Teacher
Alex Lim was born in Central Java, Indonesia. Starting Gymnastics at the age of 9, by 11 he was already into formal classes of Kung-Fu, which introduced him to small parts of Qigong of which he is now a master. By 14, he was made an assistant instructor and over the years to follow, he became familiar and experimented with numerous other martial arts, including western boxing.
Early exposure to mysticism and spirituality was rekindled in his early thirties, when he rediscovered Yoga (which he continues to practise to this very day alongside Qigong & meditation). His wide interest in health, healing, and spirituality resulted in him formally studying Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine. Other studies include 'Spiritual Protection' under the guidance of "Grandpa" Abdullah, 'Self Knowledge' with Swami Suddhananda, and 'I Liq Chuan' (a variation of Tai Chi) with Grand Master Sam Chin.
Master Lim would love to see that Qigong, Yoga, Meditation, and Self Knowledge eventually be taught to all, from primary school upwards in the formal school curriculum.
Master Lim started teaching Qigong, Meditation, and various healing arts publicly after he realised the usefulness of these arts. The self healing qualities and the physical, mental and spiritual strengthening benefits (in handling and facing the stresses and 'ups and downs' in life), as well as the art's ability to facilitate / trigger the self enquiry that will lead to mastery of the self and eventually enlightenment.
Master Lim would love to see that Qigong, Yoga, Meditation, and Self Knowledge eventually be taught to all, from primary school upwards in the formal school curriculum.
His teaching commitments take him to Bali, India and other countries. Master Lim gives public talks and conducts workshops on these subjects while continuously deepening his knowledge as although he may be a 'Master', he considers himself a perpetual student.
Master Alex Lim is currently running Qigong and meditation classes in Applecross, North Fremantle, White Gum Valley and Nollarmara in Perth, Western Australia. The next Bali tour is planned for later in the year depending on numbers. For more information, please contact Master Lim.
